I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Super Hotel, and while it tempted me with ideas of luxury, the experience was a mixed bag. Coming from the rugged beauty of Cork, I was drawn to the promise of spacious rooms. Unfortunately, I found them to be rather worn down. In our room, the shelves were broken, which wasn't ideal for someone like me who travels with a fair bit of gear. On the plus side, the hotel offers decent air conditioning-though one of our rooms had a persistent leak, which was less than convenient. The 24-hour reception provided a helpful air of accessibility, and I did appreciate the luggage storage, making it easier for us to explore the local sights without hauling everything around. The complimentary wi-fi was reliable, which is great for a landscape photographer like me, keen to upload photos on the go. While the Super Hotel has charm and a comfortable sitting area, the overall condition of the rooms left me pondering whether the price tagged was a true reflection of value. A nice getaway, but I'd advise keeping an eye on those details if you're watching your budget.
